Native to Java, these purple and green leaf beauties get their name from their waffle like texture and grow under other plants in the tropical jungle, in nurtient rich soil. These plants are easy to care for and grow quickly in warmer months, slowing down slightly in winter months. 
 
Light - Needs bright but indirect light, such as a north, east, or west facing window, or a plant light. If it is not getting enough light it will loose it's purple color. If leaves are turning brown it's too much light.
Water - Needs to have more of a moist soil than most other house plants, but cannot be over watered. 
Pot - This is a fast growing plant, so feel free to pot up any size you like. Prefers a mossier soil.
Humidity - Loves high levels! In fact you could always mist the leaves in dry conditions, especially if the leaves are browing up. Remember this is a tropical plant that grows close to the ground!
