Ravenea Rivularis or more commonly known as 'majesty palm', is a native tree to Madagascar where it can grow nearly up to 100 ft tall. However, since we confine it's roots to pots it keeps the height of the plant to about 10 ft tall instead. An increasingly popular choice of houseplant, this beauty is pet safe, and relatively simple to grow.
Light - Needs partial direct sun to full indirect sun. Can tolerate more shady areas of rooms as long as there's a bright light from lamps or overheads.
Water - The soil shouldnt dry out too much between waterings, so maintain a moist but well drained soil.
Pot - Can grow very big in a 10" pot size, so don't rush the repotting process. Likes a more acidic soil composition. Do not fertilize in the winter. Feed with a weak fertilizer in warmer months.
Humidity - High humidity is best. 60-70% if possible. A humidifier during the winter will help.
